Transistor types help?

So I’m working on an electronics project in school where we use basic low voltage circuits (using 9V and 12V batteries and such) and we need to buy transistors. But there are apparently a lot of different categories of transistors and I need to figure out which ones are just basic PNP or NPN bipolar junction transistors with 3 ends that I can just stick into a breadboard. We have to buy them from this site:

There is no such thing as basic transistors.

My own personal preference is 2N2222 for NPN and 2N2907 as it’s PNP complement.
